South Africa's water woes continue. Several suburbs in Johannesburg now have persistent water cuts. The Lesotho Highlands Water Project began its six-month maintenance to ensure better water supply to Gauteng and other areas. Media reports suggest that even after several complaints, the raw sewage at the Vaal River continues, affecting tourism and livelihoods. And the Portfolio Committee on Water and Sanitation has raised concerns of the risk of Vaal Central and Magalies Water Boards going bankrupt in the next six to 12 months due to financial mismanagement. What's the state of the country's water and is the situation improving? To speak more about this, we're joined by Water Management Expert and Associate Professor at UNISA, Professor Anja du Plessis, in studio.
