Honor 20 Pro | One week review

One week review of the Honor 20 Pro, the most premium of the new flagship phone trio released May 2019. I've been using the Pro as my full-time handset for several days following the OnePlus 7 launch and while there's no killer feature here, I do really like the quad-lens camera, speedy performance, dependable battery life and solid specs for a respectable UK asking price. Let's start with the rear camera, which on the Honor 20 Pro is bolstered by a wide-angle, telephoto and macro lens. The shooting skills are comparable to Huawei's P30 handset, complete with 3x optical zoom and solid night mode. A Kirin 980 chipset and 4000mAh battery means speedy everyday performance, strong gaming with the likes of PubG Mobile (helped by GPU Turbo as always) and all-day longevity. SuperCharge support means you can refill the battery in no time as well. Android Pie and Magic UI provide a feature-packed software experience although Honor handsets could be hit in a huge way by the Google/Huawei ban, which could kick in towards the end of 2019 and mean an end to Play support and services.
