Updating allows you to get new features and functionality on your device such as on-wrist calls, Spotify, SP02 tracking, important security patches, bug fixes and more. These steps work for Android, iPhone, and iPad devices. Checking for a firmware update on your Fitbit device is easy, and installation typically only takes a few minutes. I also offer some tips and help if you aren’t getting the option to update. Steps to update your Fitbit firmware in the video: 1. Open the Fitbit app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. 2. Tap the connected device icon in the upper left of the Fitbit App. 3. If there’s an update for your Fitbit device firmware then a pink banner ribbon will be available indicating Update Tracker Software. If you have a gray banner restart your fitbit and phone and then restart the fitbit app to see if the banner is now pink to click on. Also be sure your phone or device’s bluetooth is turned on. You cannot do the update unless bluetooth is turned on. 4. Tap "Update Tracker software” and follow prompts on the screen. You’ll see a message on the bottom of the screen that says the update is being downloaded and installed.
