First video will be a night life vlog where explore a bunch of things to do in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) during the night. We went to Apartment 42 Nguyen Hue, Saigon's incredible cafe apartment. This apartment block was built in the mid 1960s and was once accommodation for American military officers and high ranking officials working for the South Vietnam government. As the city redeveloped, tenants began renting out their apartments - it was illegal but people did it regardless, hence why tehre are so many shops in the apartment building. Then for dinner, we had broken rice (com tam) a very popular comfort food in Vietnam. Broken rice is fragments of rice grains, broken in the field, during drying, during transport, or by milling. Broken rice is fragmented, not defective, however, they used to be seen as food for people who couldn't afford much. We went to Com Tam Cali (a chain store) and got a lemon grass pork com tam & a banana coconut cream. the rice was awesome and as for the dessert, i'll let you find out. And last but not least, i want to talk about crossing the roads in Vietnam. As i am typing this, i am still in awe of how the locals do it with such ease. there are no lights, there are so many cars and they dont really stop. watch how i managed to cross a road..... hope you enjoyed this vlog! ___ Here's all my social media stuff - INSTAGRAM: @itsjanicefung   / itsjanicefung   TWITTER: @itsjanicefung   / itsjanicefung   Additional tags crossing the road in vietnam, things to do in ho chi minh city, Apartment 42 Saigon, Ho chi minh city district 1, things to do in Saigon, broken rice vietnam, broken rice saigon, com tam ho chi minh city, com tam saigon, saigon travel, ho chi minh travel, vietnam travel
