Today we ride one of the absolute best mountain bike trails in all of southern Utah. The trail it is known to all as Gooseberry Mesa. Before I started mountain biking just a little over three years ago. I watched a YouTube video that inspired me. The video was by a guy named Brian Kennedy who has a successful YouTube channel called BKXC . He was riding with the chasing epic mountain bike tour group. The story he told, along with the sheer beauty of the video inspired me to buy a bike and start riding. Fast for three years and I'm doing the same and try to inspire others to ride as well. Gooseberry mesa is no joke of a mountain bike trail. Even though I was just a beginner when I started to ride this trail, I would not recommend it to anybody who is not at least an intermediate Mountain biker. I sometimes wish I would have waited, as the many crashes that I have had on this trail have actually left scars. The thing that makes gooseberry Mesa so difficult, is that it never gives you a break. You are constantly forced to climb over or down large boulders and through type and narrow shoots. It also has some very extreme exposure both on the south and north rim Trail's. What are the nice things about gooseberry is that someone has painted white dots how long the entire trail which makes it very difficult to get lost. If you can keep track of these dots and follow the trail it makes it much easier to survive. Gooseberry mesa is a must ride trail, for those who are up for the adventure. It is one of the best single track mountain bike Mesa Trail's and all of the world, and certainly one of the best in southern Utah.
