KANON | カノン 沢渡 真琴 Sawatari Makoto ALL Screentime, Lines, and Important Parts

Finally got time to make another character tribute video, and this one was sure an emotionally harsh one to edit. I picked up Kanon this January 2021. The series as a whole has its flaws even though it was a decent emotional tragic genre anime/visual novel, another great work by Key and their writers. There are 5 heroine routes in this story, funny enough I only prefer 2 of the routes and coincidentally are the 2 writen by Jun Maeda himself, Makoto's and Mai's. Makoto's story and character stood out the most and had the most feel impact compared to the rest in my opinion. To me, it was the best of the 5, and to have her story first in the anime was questionable, making the continuation of watching Kanon and the other 4 felt less and less impactful. Reasons Makoto was the best in Kanon for me: Once again, another ball of energy Animal spirit "reincarnated"? Interesting background, story, and mythical, real enough to believe in this superstition Best part, fits my genre for a good sad story, when you start off with a bright and cheerful character and slowly deteriorate until eventual "death", slow and dragged out pain, instead of snapping a finger and it's gone. Couple of moments felt that was like no other 367 anime I watched ever given me. The only one in the end who is not "physically" there, just feel like she deserved better. Have to thank Maeda-san, Key, and KyoAni (2006), for re-adapting this story and Sawatari Makoto. Also have to thank the artist for the thumbnail image for sort of illustrated an alternative ending that could have happened in a parallel universe of Kanon, Makoto achieving the happiness she deserved.
