Mount Stuart Parkrun

I had to get up at stupid o'clock (5:25 am) to cycle to catch the train to Wemyss Bay. From there, I got on the ferry to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. I just made it to Mount Stuart on my bike for the pre-run briefing. What an amazing course! As I mentioned the video, this may be my favourite course so far. What's yours? The rain stayed away, and the autumn colours in the woods, followed by a great view of the coast provided for a great running morning. One of the marshals mentioned seals, but I didn't see any nor did I stop to look. Close to the halfway pint, I got a great view of the mansion that is Mount Stuart House. It looked great in the fall morning sun. The house is open at noon for tours, but I was in a rush to get back on the ferry and I didn't want to wait. The course was all trails, so I should have worn my trail shoes, but I wanted to give my new Nike Pegasus 39s a go. They held up fine. If I wasn't so rushed when I arrived, I would have noticed there weren't very many runners. I then could have pushed a bit to make the top 10 finishers, which I've never done. This was supposed to be a recovery run in my marathon training plan, so I took It easy. My time at Mount Stuart Parkrun was 33:30. I was the 12th finisher (10th male & first in my age group! There was only one other runner in my group 🤪) of 26 runners. This was my 162nd Parkrun, my 26th different Parkrun, and my first time at Mount Stuart Parkrun.
