[PC] Demonizer - Demonic ALL Clear - 57,9 Million (Snow) (Old Version)

Turn on captions for extra comments. Edit: New version came out that added leaderboards, new and added sound effects, more features and a lot of rebalancing. Very cool new indie shmup that came out last year. It's a very unique game, the stage and enemy design is not something I've really seen anywhere else. There are almost no air enemies, it's all ground enemies, which is like the opposite of Touhou. All the enemies are also dudes and they attack you more like action game enemies than shmup enemies. They all have different ways of attacking you and they even take cover behind obstacles to avoid your shots. Demonic is the hardest difficulty in the game. It's a really insane difficulty and it took me quite a while to find some good routes and exploits to make it even possible. I'm not sure if the game is even possible to clear with the other character. The game has two playable characters, Mae and Snow. The two characters all have different abilities, shots and bombs. Snow has a shot that can slow down bullets and eventually reflect them back. Her bomb also reflects and gives more i-frames. Snow in general is waaaay better for survival. Her bomb gets stronger the more bullets you reflect, which is obviously better on higher difficulties. Her bomb can also damage some bosses that the other character can not, most notably the King boss. Her shot gets less effective on higher difficulties though, as bullets tend to be too fast to reflect them back before they reach the bottom of the screen. The only downside to her is that she only has 2 active options out at a time instead of 4, and can only hold 14 options total as opposed to 28. Not a super huge deal though. You unlock Snow by bombing the hole in the canal in stage 6 twice. Speaking of options they kinda work like the homing options in Raiden Fighters. While unfocused they search out enemies and attack them, but they are vulnerable to bullets when they do and can actually die from too much damage. You can lose them pretty fast if you're not careful especially on higher difficulties. While focused they work like Ketsui lock-on options and can't be hurt. The options also autocollect all the items on screen. There are two kinds of items: Blue hearts: These increase your shot power and also function as score items. Red hearts: Gives you an option. Collecting one of these also gives you a few seconds of i-frames. This is actually used during stage routing. Bomb management is extremely important for beating this mode. Bombs are very powerful and you need them to basically get past a lot of stuff that's not really possible to dodge. Deaths only give you half a bomb back so you have to plan them really carefully, they are a precious resource. You can only hold 3 bombs at a time and at full you trigger an autobomb that consumes your entire stock if you get hit. This is REALLY BAD and can cause an instant game over if it happens in the wrong spot. There is actually a hidden mechanic in this game where you generate a lot of bomb meter if your sprite is on top of an enemy sprite. Snow can really abuse this since she gets a lot of i-frames on her bomb. Extends are score-based and are rewarded at certain thresholds. You lose a lot of power after a death. This can be really bad since your options become less effective. Scoring consists mostly of item chaining. The blue hearts increase in value the more you collect and they reset if one leaves the bottom of the screen. In Demonic they start at 500 and max out at 30k. At the end of every stage there is also a bonus for: No-miss. No items lost. Not losing any options from them getting damaged too much. Freeing all the ally monsters in a stage. These go up in value the later the stage. There is a bonus for remaining lives at the end of the game too. Buy the game on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/10...
