A Luxury Holiday Home with a Breathtaking Setting The holiday home is furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout. The wonderfully spacious open plan ground floor has kitchen, dining, conservatory and living areas, with the latter 3 areas enjoying superb views of Glen Lough and the Donegal Highlands. The ensuite master bedroom on the ground floor also enjoys these views. The ground floor additionally features two large twin bedrooms and a luxury bathroom with bath and separate shower. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with lake and mountain views as well as a second bathroom. Glen Village and Glen Lough A short walk from the front door brings you into the heart of the small village of Glen. The village is located at the eastern end of Glen Lough under the shade of Lough Salt Mountain. In the village the visitor will find the renowned Old Glen Bar. This is a true gem of an Irish country pub -- with the added bonus of a great restaurant attached. Glen Lough itself is a beautiful tree lined lake with a wonderful mountain background - including the spectacular Muckish Mountain. Salmon and sea-trout fishing are available on the Lough and on the nearby Lackagh River - permits are required and are available locally. North Donegal The holiday home is 5 km from Carrigart, 9km from Downings and just over 7 km to the superb championship golf links at Rosapenna near Downings. There are superb beaches at both Rosapenna and Downings while Carrigart has a dive centre and an equestrian centre. With the opening of the new Mulroy Bridge near Carrigart the holiday home is also centrally located to explore 3 of the most beautiful peninsulas in Donegal - Fanad, Rosguill and Horn Head. The coastal roads on these peninsulas are part of Ireland's new long distance driving route -- The Wild Atlantic Way. The majestic Glenveagh National Park in the heart of the Donegal Highlands is just over 18km away. This park contains a quaint Scottish style Castle, visitor centre, wonderful gardens and 16,000 hectares of mountains, glens and lakes. Event closer to the holiday home is the wonderful Ards Forest Park on the shores of Sheephaven Bay. Both parks offer numerous tracks and trails for the keen walker.
