Travel Disrupted: Dare to leave because you deserve better | Emily Chu | TEDxTongChongSt

In this thought-provoking talk, Emily reveals how she gathers the courage to reinvent her life during the Covid-19 pandemic, and takes us on a journey to explore what can happen when we take a leap of faith to the unknown. Her strength, humanity and compassion shine through every word. This talk was part of the TEDxTongChongSt DECODING DISRUPTION virtual event, which took place on Dec. 17, 2021 in Hong Kong. Best known for chronicling her adventures on her Facebook page Emily Post, Emily Chu is a celebrated social media influencer, podcaster, and an author of two books. Her love for travel and languages has become an intrinsic part of her life from a young age, which would propel her to a career in the airline industry – first as a Dubai-based flight attendant with Emirates before relocating to Hong Kong to join Cathay Pacific. Having spent a decade jet-setting in more than 100 cities around the world, Emily is widely regarded as the go-to source on travel and lifestyle advice. She is frequently featured as an airline industry expert by media outlets, such as TVBS and Era News. She has appeared on Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Business Weekly, Manager Today, among others. Now based in Taiwan, Emily is a corporate trainer specializing in branding, social media marketing and communications. Her clients include Fubon Financial, Samsung, Dyson, Nespresso, L’Oréal, and Shiseido. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
