The Sad Truth About the Xbox 360 Dog Gamerpic (Xbox 360 Nostalgia) - RIP :(

Every Xbox gamer has seen the OG Xbox 360 Dog gamer picture AT LEAST once. But what happened to that dog? Who did he/she belong to? Who took the picture? Why hasn't Microsoft ever made a mention? I have scrolled through countless internet articles to find an answer. Many posts have consisted of random people saying they took the picture and uploaded it to the Xbox 360. Firstly, when the Xbox 360 first launched, gamers did not have the ability to upload custom gamer pics. This is still the case with the Xbox 360 in 2022. We were given a variety of nostalgic pictures and the 360 dog was among one of the only gamerpics that was a real and genuine photo. The rest of the gamerpics were animated. After countless days of reading random posts and watching videos, I came across a post of a picture and the story behind the picture of the dog. I am still skeptical because every post I came across won't have any real sources cited. It's 2022 and Microsoft never made a mention of the dog. I did call Microsoft/Xbox Support and the representative only said that the dog is dead. But she never really answered my question as to who's dog it was and who took the picture. She didn't even say she doesn't know. Just that the dog is dead and that's pretty much it. So my question regarding the doggo was not really answered by Microsoft. Shocker. After random posts, articles, tweets, I concluded that a Developer/Graphic Designer for the Xbox 360 took the picture and posted it to the available gamerpics on the original dashboard. Ever since 2005, the gamerpic remained along with the other nostalgic pics. Where it will remain forever until the Xbox 360 servers shutdown. :( I also read that the dog was missing and no one what happened to him/her. Whatever the case is regarding the Xbox 360 dog, in 2022, he/she is dead and has been dead for years now. Unless they're the oldest known dogs ever which is not likely the case. It's just such a shame that Microsoft never publicly said who the dog was because I'm pretty sure every Xbox gamer that has been around since the nostalgic Xbox 360 days would pay tribute to him/her. Xbox could've even remastered the gamerpic. But unfortunately, that was not the case. I just hope that that dog lived a great and comfortable life and is enjoying dog heaven. :(
