AN AVIATION STORY: Captain Tony's United Airlines Retirement Flight

My Dad said he is amazed and moved by the responses of so many caring individuals. I know he'd love to hear from you! ** My father, Captain Antonio "Tony" Navarrete, retired as a United Airlines 777 Captain on November 6, 2019 after 30.8 years with the company, and an extraordinary lifelong career in aviation. Upon the completion of this retirement flight, he logged 23,254.4 hours of total flight time!! (That's almost 2.7 years straight worth of flying.) 14 of us (his wife, 3 kids, 2 godsons, spouses, and kids) were honored to be aboard his very last flight from Denver to Maui. It was the ultimate take-your-family-to-work day! I finally got around to editing this video documenting the day and highlighting his aviation legacy and I'm excited to share it with all of you. Our family is lucky to have my this man as a role model and our patriarch. My hope is the kids of our family watch this video for generations to come, and that they be filled with the same kind of pride we have for my father. Enjoy his aviation story.
