Rebuilding a AMCI Trecoder Paint Gun. These forestry marking guns can be set up to feed paint from quart sized paint cans directly attached to the gun or as shown in this video by a gallon jug of paint likely carried on you back in a cruise vest or back pack. Replacement parts are the same between the two only difference is the style of suction tube and the addition of a 1/4" vinyl hose for the gallon feed. The rubber seals in the cylinder can go bad over time, and the ball valves and nozzle can get clogged in the field. With any hand style marking gun it is imperative to mix paint well and clean the paint gun out after every daily uses with the appropriate thinner for what ever style paint or ink your using. Anyone have any experience using the Trecoder brand ink instead of paint?
