The Singing Ringing Tree - Ambient Music Exploration
The Singing Ringing Tree is a striking sculpture set against the backdrop of the Pennine Hill range. It was designed by Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu and the 3 metre tall sculpture was completed in 2006. I have often gone to visit the sculpture, to enjoy the view and take in the stark sculpture and hear its song. This time o decided to bring my camera and recording equipment to get some field recordings of the sculpture and then process them through the modular synth to see what kind of other worldly tones I could create from it’s source!
