PCT Thru-hiker Breaks Down The Movie WILD

*At 21:47 the audio gets weird because someone made a copyright claim on the soundtrack from that part of the movie, so now those 30 seconds are covered up with some of Youtube's free music. The word it cuts off is "layer," then all I said there was, "...testing how deep the water is. Oh lawd...and there's where it would be good to have your pack unclipped. But thankfully she didn't lose it so all's well that ends well I reckon." The movie WILD (2014) has inspired a ton of people all over the world to hike the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail). Now that I've completed the PCT (2017) and a few other long distance thru-hikes I wanted to see how the backpacking aspects of it hold up to my own experiences. Plus, since most of us need to #stayhome right now I figure everyone, myself included, has more time to watch movies. I'm not here to make judgements about the filmmaking, Cheryl Strayed, Reese Witherspoon or anyone else; I'm only comparing the trail and the backpacking experience to my own to offer a second, more modern, perspective. Obviously I don't own any of the footage from the movie, but I needed to use some of it for educational purposes.
