Is your Lawn Always Full of WEEDS? In this video I will show you an easy and cheap DIY way to prevent WEEDS including CRABGRASS before they grow. We will be using a pre emergent herbicide called Prodiamine also know as Barricade Herbicide . Prodiamine is a water-dispersible granular pre-emergent herbicide and it is what all lawn care & landscape professionals use to prevent weeds for their clients. It is labeled to control various lawn weeds such as CRABGRASS , CHICKWEED, SPURGE, ANNUAL BLUEGRASS AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER UNDESIRABLE GRASSES. Prodiamine works by preventing the growth of seeds before they start to germinate. It will not kill existing weeds in your lawn, but will provide control for early spring and summer weeds for up to 6 months. When to put down / apply pre emergent Weed Control ? The best time to apply pre emergent herbicide is when your soil temps are 50-55 degrees for at least 2-3 days in a row. One of the most important steps to spring lawn care is weed prevention. Ive tried many different pre emergents available at Home Depot and lowes such as Scotts halts granular fertilizer and pre emergent (not to be confused with Scotts weed and feed ) , Tenacity pre emergent , organic pre emergent and lesco pre emergent . Those are all good choices but ive had the most success using prodiamine and feel it is the best pre emergent weed killer.
