How do political acts of resistance manifest physically, as visual forms? For Ahmet Öğüt’s project, Bakunin’s Barricade, works from the Allen collection adorn a barricade–suggesting the centrality of art and culture within protest movements. Director Andria Derstine, Curator Sam Adams, and student Gallery Guides share an intimate discussion of this complex installation. Presented as part of FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art 2022. Student and post-baccalaureate speakers include Biba Duffy-Boscagli '23, Parker Niles '23, Zach Terrillion '24, Anna Holshouser-Belden '24, Julia Alexander '22, and Ellis Lane '22. This event was recorded on Thursday, September 8, 2022 as part of the Allen After Hours series.
