🟢 Solid storytelling relies on repeating sequences to give the listener a rhythm and a familiar pattern to hold on to. However, these sequences must contain surprising elements and variations from time to time to keep the listener interested ✅ ▶️ One of the plugins I use to create those sequences is Pigments, it has what seems to be a simple 16 steps sequencer but it’s actually super powerful and perfect for the job. 🥇 At first I like to create a basic 16 steps sequence, then I lock most of the steps so I can apply randomisation on the unlocked ones. 🥈 I randomize the gate length, the play probability, the velocity if it’s used as a modulation source and the slide parameters and I set the internal randomizer to create a random value every bar (but you can set it to more than one bar).
