Faust House - Charles Square - Zofin Palace -Slovansky island 🇨🇿 Prague - Czech republic 4K HDR ASMR

Today the weather is not the best, but we will take a walk through the streets of Prague anyway! We will go from the Faust House, on Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí), towards the Vltava river and finish on Slavansky Island! Faust House (Faustův dům). A baroque palace is called so due to a legend associated with it. The legend is probably based on the historical figure of English alchemist Edward Kelley, a friend of John Dee and Elisabeth I of England who stayed on the court of Emperor Rudolph II. Nowadays, it is used as a faculty hospital of Charles University. https://goo.gl/maps/2vwo7YAXF1GNJspXA Charles Square (Czech: Karlovo náměstí) is a city square in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. At roughly 80,550 m², it is one of the largest squares in the world and was the largest town square of medieval Europe. Founded in 1348 as the main square of the New Town by Charles IV, it was known as Dobytčí trh (Cattle Market) from the 15th century and finally named after its founder in 1848. The central portion of the square was turned into a park in the 1860s. The square is now one of the main transport hubs of the city center, with Karlovo náměstí metro station and numerous tram lines and busy roads crossing it in all directions. https://goo.gl/maps/xM7oQA3SQj7ifVqM7 The Slavonic island became an actual island after the great flood of 1784 when it was secured with a low embankment and trees were planted among the shrubs. This created an island 250 meters long and 100 meters wide. Leather dyers moved onto the island from the New Town, bringing their work with them, and the island was initially named Dyers’ Island. Zofin Palace (Žofín) is a Neo-Renaissance building in Prague, in the Czech Republic. It is a cultural center, a venue for concerts, balls, conferences, and exhibitions. It is situated on Slovanský Ostrov [cs] (Slavonic Island), an island in the Vltava river in New Town, Prague. Václav Novotny created a Neo-Renaissance building here in 1836–1837; it was named after Princess Sophie (Žofie in Czech), mother of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I. The single-story building had a concert hall, and social hall opened in 1837 with a ball. The Prague Slavic Congress was held here in 1848. In 1925, the island was renamed Slovanský Ostrov to commemorate the event. In 1884 the City of Prague bought the island, including the palace, rebuilt as a two-story building. The exterior and interior were renovated in 1991–1994. https://goo.gl/maps/mUmJsZuRAkzbwvXj8 Recorded in 4k 60p HDR Perception Philosophy 11.01.22 Prague 4k walk ASMR prague - faust house - charles square - zofin palace -slovansky island
