$59 Walmart Huffy 26" Rock Creek Mountain Bike - Overview and Issues

The Huffy 26" Rock Creek Mens mountain bike is a low priced mountain bike available at Walmart stores and walmart.com. It is basic, but for the sale price of $59 it is not hard to justify the purchase. The bicycle I received had a warped rim out of the box, but I believe this was due to shipping. Huffy support was pleasant and has a replacement rim on the way. I compare this bike to the Pacific Evolution and Hyper Shocker 26 bicycles from Dorel Industries / Pacific Cycles, both of which cost more than the Huffy Rock Creek. I believe this bike is equal to, if not better, than most other Big Box Bikes in the sub $99 price range. That said, there are reports of the frame warping under stress due to the lack of additional frame supports. Time will tell if this happens, but I DO NOT recommend taking any Walmart or other low priced Big Box Bike onto actual mountain bike trails. They won't last long! This bike is equipped with a full suspension frame, 26x1.95 knobby tires, Shimano rear derailleur, SRAM twist shifters, and what appears to be a fairly decent saddle for the low price.
