How to Fix Your Picking Technique and How to Play Fast In this video I will show you how to fix you picking technique or how you can have a proper picking technique. I've been teaching guitar for more than 20 years an 99% of my new students were holding the pick index and thumb dominant. To play fast properly you need to use your wrist since the wrist is the most important element of the picking technique. When you play with the finger dominant picking technique you can't engage your wrist. To fix that you have to lock the pick under the thumb joint. Additionally, the rest of the fingers should be intact to minimize finger movement. With this technique, you'll get more precise and louder sound. Once you engage your wrist and improve strength and dexterity you can start relaxing your picking hand in time. Please use your wrist and try to increase your speed gradually.
