I like the sounds of nature and good conversation when hiking, but when hiking big miles alone, I need to listen to music and podcasts to keep my mind from racing about negative and weird things. It is important to be able to hear your surroundings to keep safe while hiking. As great as you think your music is, it is important to not make other people listen it. The Noxgear 39g personal bluetooth speaker is how I listen to podcasts and music while backpacking. With a weight of only 39 grams, I wear this little speaker on my sternum strap. It allows me to listen my favorites while still hearing potential threats. It is rechargeable with a micro usb cord I already use for other items I carry and the battery lasts over 12 hours per charge. Easy controls allow me to pause when others are nearby and to easily adjust volume or fast forward/rewind.
