Date filmed: Saturday the 25th of May 2024 Videos filmed at: 13:56 | 14:09 Route: Ely to Peterborough Line Between Ely (ELY) and Manea (MNE) Stations Crossing type: Automatic Half Barrier Crossing (AHBC) Filming location: Second Drove, Little Downham (CB6 2UB) One of 5 level crossings scattered within a mile around the rural Fenland village of Little Downham, Cambridgeshire. This level crossing was partially renewed (lights, barriers, and alarms) a couple of years ago now, and is very overgrown with vegetation in three of its four corners. One alarm has gone ballistically fast as of quite recent to the time of filming; it's quite faulty as typically, alarms are not meant to sound with quite such fast tones! Due to a slow barrier, the lights briefly flash and the alarms briefly 'chirp' at the very end of the cycling sequence - a 'tail-ring'.
