Do Not Be Afraid

Every human being has wrestled with fear and anxiety since the beginning of the human race. And that's why when you open up the Bible you find that there are over 400 verses in which the Bible addresses fear and there is one refrain in Scripture that appears more often than any other one phrase that shows up more times than any other single phrase in all the bible. Most of the time it's on the lips of God sometimes on the lips of the angels sometimes it's on the lips of Jesus. And this is the phrase do not be afraid. And then usually it's in a context like this like in Isaiah we read these words don't fear because I am with you. Don't be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will surely help you. I will hold you with my righteous strong hand. So here's what I do with passages like this when I read them then I pray them. So I going to take that passage and I'm gonna say God help me not to fear. Help me to remember that you are with me. Help me to remember that you are my God. I claim you as my God. I trust that you will strengthen me. I believe that you will help me. Hold me Lord hold me near. Helped me not to be afraid. Hold me by your strong and mighty hand. When you take those passage you hear God speaking them to you, you turn around you pray them you begin to find a peace from them.
