French Creek State Park Campground - 2022 Loop A Renovation

I took a walk through loop A of the French Creek State Park campground, which is located within Union Township, Pennsylvania. The park decided to upgrade the campground by adding addition full hook-up camp sites in Loop A. Presently the park has 17 full hook-up sites in Loop C. Loop A was originally a tent camping loop. With the exception of a few sites in loop A, ( sites at the top of the hill, I would not recommend this loop for campers with medium to larger rigs. The sites are drastically uneven and no where near level, especially front to back. In some cases a camper would literally have the rear camper bumper on the ground and then have to elevate the front of a camper to an unsafe height to have a level rig. Unfortunately that had a great idea with the expansion of the campground but failed in the execution of the renovation. Maybe they are not done and plan on adding another layer of asphalt to the sites to level them up before the 2022 season starts. If they do add another layer, they would just be creating another hazard with campers over turning feet and ankles on the steep asphalt site edges. This is a great State Park to camp at. Many trails to hike, a huge pool (although closed for repairs during the 2021 season), two nice little lakes to fish at (Scotts Run and Hopewell Lake), a disc golf course, boat rentals. It's just unfortunate that they created some issues, with the Loop A renovation, that campers will have a very difficult time overcoming.
