This video gives an overview of the GUE Project Baseline Lake Tahoe Project area. Project Area Name: Lake Tahoe Area Description: Known as the "Jewel of the Sierra" , Lake Tahoe is designated as an Outstanding National Resource Water, which is a special designation under the Clean Water Act, because of its clarity and water quality. New Millennium Dive Expeditions begins a focused effort to document the true condition of the lake by reporting strictly on the conditions personally observed while submerged from the nearshore down to 500 feet. Much has been reported as to the efforts of various agencies to protecting the lake, and in some cases there is truth and in other cases denial. We will provide baseline information and let the viewer make the ultimate decision. Project Baseline empowers passionate citizens to observe and record change within the world's aquatic environments in a way that fosters public awareness and supports political action.
