This is the Oakey Forest Rd level crossing at Marrangaroo, near Lithgow NSW. The crossing is on the Main Western Line which connects Sydney with towns such as Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo. The original gated signals here dated back to 1996 and had Westinghouse EB gate mechanisms. They survived until early 2016 when they were replaced by the current signals. Both gate-less signals are original and were not replaced, they have Western Cullen Hayes lights mounted on Westinghouse brackets. The new gated signals have Western Cullen Hayes bases, United Group LED lights and Invensys Rail gate mechanisms. When these signals were installed in 2016 they had Safetran (Siemens) Type 3 electronic bells. In a surprising move they have since been replaced by brand new Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bells. The bell on the eastern signal rings until the gates rise, while the bell on the western signal rings until the gates lower.
