Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the construction of highways in the country has reached a new record of 37 km per day. On Monday, Gadkari said that 11,035 km of highways have been constructed so far this financial year, due to which we have been able to achieve this feat. It sits 32.85 kilometers per day, which is a record. " The minister said that this figure could reach 40 km per day in the coming times. Gadkari said that this achievement also becomes important from the point of view that it has been achieved in the midst of the Kovid-19 epidemic. With this, this achievement is close to the world record of building a route of the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway. The minister said that at the time when he took charge of the ministry, the pace of highway construction was very sluggish two kilometers per day. 406 projects with an investment of Rs 3.85 lakh crore were stuck. Due to some measures, Indian banks could be saved from NPAs of Rs 3 lakh crore. Gadkari said that a lot of efforts were made to remove hurdles and speed up highway construction.
