OpenBVE NYCT Special: 1964 World's Fair Super Express Ride

Reviving a long gone era of the NYC subway using OpenBVE, a simple train simulator game... PLEASE NOTE: I unfortunately didn't have enough time to get the route as presentable as I wanted for this video, which I wanted to put out as soon as possible in the summer holidays. Therefore, don't mind the route looking empty and unfinished especially along the elevated route which is still very much WIP. Signals are placeholders too. But I hope you'll still enjoy watching! More about the route further below. Last April marked the 60th anniversary of the 1964 World's Fair as well as the opening of the Shea Stadium in Willets Point, Queens. The World's Fair took place in Meadows Park, opening in two seasons, from April 22nd to October 18th of 1964, and from April 21st to October 17th of 1965. This symbolic year also marked an important change for the NYCTA IRT Flushing 7 Line that served these landmarks, with the introduction of brand new picture windowed IRT subway cars built by St. Louis Car Co. The contract included 40 single Westinghouse powered R-33 units, with 195 married pair (390 cars total) General Electric/Westinghouse powered R-36 units, making a total of 430 cars. Delivered from 1963 to 1964, these cars were introduced in a unique Turquoise Blue & White paint scheme, making it the most appealing rolling stock of the NYC Subway at that time. And for the daily 7 line riders, it was a refreshing event as the R-33/36WF units displaced the older R-12/14, R-15 and R-17 units that had been running on the line for many years. Also for a brief moment during the 1964 World's Fair, R-33 Mainline cars were borrowed from the IRT Main Lines as backup on the 7 line until the arrival of the last GE R-36 units. They were coupled to R-17s in order to make 11-car consists, which was also a novelty on the line. During both World's Fairs, the NYCTA provided special super express runs to the Fair that skipped all stops in Queens to Willets Point, making the ride from Manhattan to the World's Fair less than 20 minutes long! And in this video, we will virtually experience this super express run in 1964! This route might get released as part of a 7 line pack I consider working on in a FAR future, but it's totally uncertain as of now. However, aside from the first Paris Metro release soon, I have a couple of NYC Subway projects I wish to release in the next year, and perhaps some small stuff by the end of this year if I have time.
