How To Reach Pompeii And Herculaneum From Naples (part One)

Herculaneum and Pompeii are the two cities destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius eruption in 79 DC. Reaching Herculaneum from Naples by train is very easy, it takes only 16 minutes, and it costs €4.40 return per person. The train runs every half hour. From the train station it is a very short walk to reach the entrance of the archeological site. The old roman city of Herculaneum is buried under 20 meters of volcanic ashes, and the new city of Ercolano is built on top of that. For this reason, at Herculaneum, only ten percent of the city has been excavated. For a good visit to Herculaneum plan at least 3 hours, the site is not huge, but there is a lot to see. Also, keep in mind that the line for tickets can be really long for this reason to buy the tickets online before reaching the site. Most of Herculaneum is really well preserved, and most houses still have the old fresco practically intact. In Herculaneum, you can see many skeletons of the people trying to escape the eruption. In Herculaneum, it is possible to have a great idea of how the Roman elite was living. We are two Canadians currently living in Italy. We moved to Italy in November 2018 to start a new chapter of our life's and we would like to share our story with. We hope you enjoy it. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited. After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew – and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.
