This video is primarily about the original gearbox the ZF 5HP (5 speed) In the video I talk about the later boxes as the 6 SPEED (also ZF) And I talk about the XKR's getting the Mercedes box at their launch. I incorrectly imply that the Mercedes Box is a 6 speed. Thanks to all those who promptly alerted me to my mistake. I include Matthew Jenkins's comment here by way of example.👍 -- 'The Mercedes box (W5A580) is still a 5 speed with the 6HP26 arriving in 2002. The ZF 6HP released in 2002 was the World's first production 6 speed auto box as fitted to many BMWs, later Jag S-Type and XJ X350.
