CONCLO’s Kerala office celebrated Onam this year with a unique, eco-friendly twist. The festivities brought together employees in a day filled with tradition, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability. The highlight of the event was a Pookalam competition that focused on zero waste, followed by a grand Sadhya meal and team awards. Pookalam with a Purpose: Zero-Waste Concept : In a creative and sustainable initiative, the Pookalam competition this year did not use flowers. Instead, the teams embraced the concept of zero waste by using sawdust powder to design their intricate floral patterns. The sawdust, after the competition, was cleaned and later used in the office compost to create organic manure. This thoughtful approach highlighted CONCLO’s commitment to environmental responsibility, turning a traditional event into an opportunity for innovation and sustainability. Onam Sadhya: A Feast of Unity : Following the Pookalam competition, employees gathered to enjoy a full Onam Sadhya. The traditional vegetarian feast, served on banana leaves, featured a variety of dishes such as rice, sambar, avial, and sweet payasam. The Sadhya was a moment for the team to come together, share stories, and enjoy the rich flavors of Kerala’s cuisine, further emphasizing the essence of unity that Onam represents. Recognizing Team Efforts: Pookalam Winners and Best Dressed : As the celebrations continued, the CEO of CONCLO announced the winners of the Pookalam competition, recognizing their creativity and teamwork. The winning team was praised for their innovative zero-waste design. In addition, the "Best Dressed Employee" Jithin was announced, honoring the individual who best represented the traditional spirit of Onam through their attire.
