Lecture by Prof. Svante Pääbo - winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine 2022 - special guest of the University of Lodz Prof. Svante Pääbo visited University of Lodz in the second half of September 2022, at the invitation of Prof. Elżbieta Żądzińska, Rector of the University of Lodz and Head of the Department of Anthropology, University of Lodz. He gave a lecture entitled "The Impact of Neandertals and Denisovanson Human Evolutionary History" as part of the 48th Conference of the Polish Anthropological Society. Prof. Svante Pääbo was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine on 3 October 2022. The Nobel Assembly awarded the Prize to Prof. Svante Pääbo “for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution”. W drugiej połowie września 2022 r. prof. Svante Pääbo gościł w Uniwersytecie Łódzkim, na zaproszenie prof. Elżbiety Żądzińskiej, Rektor Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, kierownik Katedry Antropologii UŁ. Wygłosił wówczas wykład pt. „The Impact of Neandertals and Denisovanson human evolutionary history” w ramach 48. Konferencji Polskiego Towarzystwa Antropologicznego. 3 października 2022 prof. Svante Pääbo otrzymał Nagrodę Nobla w dziedzinie fizjologii lub medycyny. Komitet Noblowski przyznał Nagrodę za „odkrycia dotyczące genomów wymarłych człowiekowatych i ewolucji człowieka”.
