찹쌀탕수육: I Made Chapssal Tangsuyuk For My Wife (Sweet and Sour Pork). RECIPE INCLUDED!

Hello Everyone :) Today I made one of my favourite meals I tried while I was in Korea. It's Chewy, Crunchy, Sweet, Sour, a bit Spicy! So good...Chapssal Tangsuyuk. In Korea there are two kinds of Tangsuyuk. The most common one (Tangsuyuk) is quite easy to make and you will find a lot of recipes for it online. The one shown in this video is Chapssal Tangsuyuk which has a very different texture and I love it way more :) Anyways, I hope you enjoy this recipe, if you do, please like and subscribe, that would help me out a lot :) Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section! The Knife I use in almost every video: https://amzn.to/2Kv5LqV Ingredients! (Meat) 750g pork tenderloin 1.5 cup potato starch 1.5 cup water 1 tbsp mirin 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper (Sauce) 2 tbsp water 2 tbsp rice vinegar 1 tbsp soy sauce 3 tbsp sugar 1-2 tsp lemon juice (Veggies and such) 1/4 carrot 1 small onion 3 Thai chilies 2-3 tbsp pineapple chunks 2 tsp potato starch 2 tsp water 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for the veggies) (Frying) canola or vegetable oil (for frying) Step 1: Add the potato starch and the water and set aside for 1 hour. After 1 hour discard the water the has seperated to the top. Step 2: Cut the pork into 1/4 inch thick slices (as shown in the video). Step 3: Add pepper, salt and mirin to the Pork and set aside. Step 4: Cut the veggies (however you want) Step 5: Make the sauce: add the water, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and lemon juice and stir. Step 6: stir fry the veggies in vegetable oil for a few minutes and add the sauce. Step 7: add the pineapple and 2tsp potato starch+ 2 tsp water mixture. (If it's too thick, add a few tbsp of water to the sauce pan.) Step 8: Coat the pork with the potato starch mixture. Step 9: heat up a deep pan with Oil for frying to 160 degrees Celsius. Step 10: Once hot enough, add pieces of pork one at a time, without overcrowding the pan. (Do mutliple batches if needed) Step 11: After a few seconds put the pork in a strainer and hit it with a spatula or chopsticks to release more water (It makes it more crunchy) Step 12: Put the pork back in for a few a bit more time (It really depends on the heat of your oil and the kind of pan) try to make the Pork white, crunchy and puffy Step 13: Take out the pork. Step 14: After having fried all the pork 1 time heat up the oil to 180 degrees Celsius and fry a second time. Make sure you also smack it again halfway through for an extra crunch 🙂 Step 15: toss the pork in the sauce or serve the sauce on the side. Either way is good. You can even pour the sauce on top if you'd like 🙂 Step 16: Enjoy!
