The very first Mopar to ever be featured FOR SALE here at Musclecars Universe. The year is 1971 and it marks the beginning of the 3rd Generation Charger which receives a complete design overhaul compared to the older models. A more streamlined appearance with strong, bold lines. Like the LONG front end, the fastback roofline, and a distinct split grille giving it a menacing and aggressive look. This car was also able to continue the Mopar successful streak in NASCAR with Bobby Isaac and Richard Petty at the wheel. Staying on the front grille, this stunning Charger has had the iconic R/t front headlights group conversion vs the factory concealed assembly, making it more pleasing to the eye with such a captivating look. Other notable mention is the famous and grunty 440ci with 4 barrel carb, factory new exhaust headers, MSD Ignition, alloy radiator with both electric and mechanical fans, coupled to a factory 727 Torqueflite transmission with B&M quick shifter and long gear ratios. Being a 52 years old vehicle, it's hard to believe how good the interiors still look today and I really dig the 70s coolness of the cabin. The Mopar optional bucket seats look the part and the wooden steering wheel matches the dashboard perfectly. The back seats are spotless too and are also pretty comfortable, don't forget this was and still is an amazing highway cruiser. In terms of handling , the upgraded steering box and rebuilt power steering really give this Charger a totally different attitude and make it drive on rails. Enough with the myth that Muscle Cars are only good on a straight line, this Charger is truly fun and nimble to swing around, the new torsion bar and the aftermarket wheels on lowered suspensions are also a contributing factor to a surprisingly quick car.
