How to layer Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils in Johanna Basford's World of Flowers. Layering different colours on top of each other can create some great effects when you are using oil based pencils like Polychromos. In this video I will show you in real time, how I like to layer my pencils when colouring in adult colouring books. I use oil based pencils very differently compared to wax based coloured pencils, and layering is really one of those methods that make Polychromos pencils shine. Applying lots of light, overlapping layers gives you the ability to create great gradients, which in turn can provide lots of depth and dimension to your colouring page.
