In 1841 Samuel Shepheard founded the “Shepheard Hotel” in Cairo, a refuge for crowned and uncrowned heads with the attitude to give them the best service and quality someone could imagine during that time. The hotel gained worldwide recognition for its high service standards and his striving to offer all their guests a perfect stay in every situation and area. In 2004 the Shepheard Bar in Cologne opened its doors, seeing in the Shepheard Hotel a role model for combining tradition, high quality standards and modern innovations. Inspired by their philosophy, design and architecture the bartenders Frank Thelen, Csaba Schneider, Andreas Künster and their team combine and recreate old cocktail recipes with new working techniques, flavours and spirits, striving to give their guests some new, tasty experiences.
