EP 28 |

This Episode covers zone 1 gardens, close to our kitchen door, where we grow many of our vegetables and fruits. The garden just outside our kitchen door is the Mango Grove. It is quite a shaded area, so we grow shade tolaerant crops.The garden is also criss crossed with swales to to capture all water running downstream at high speeds. Manisha tells you how she has designed this garden, and also shows you the mint, curry leaf, basil, citrus, papaya, colocasia, hill lemon, blue pea flower, custard apple, mangoes, ginger, turmeric, chillies and bananas growing here. She also explains the water comes down the slope and is slowed down by the swales made all over the garden. What's Growing is a mini series filmed by Aanandaa permaculture at regular intervals, to educate and inspire others to have a permaculture garden of their own.
