As requested by that baby van gogh guy, here's the famous overture to Carmen, a very popular opera by itself. It'd been a while since my last 8-bit cover so it was fun to revisit that area again. As for the overture, it's quite short and compact, consisting of two very distinct sections. The first, Les Toréadors, is centered around the character of Escamillo and opens with a very energetic uproar, which will sound familiar to the vast majority of listeners. At 1:07, we're given a short break to present another famous tune, Escamillo's personal song, "Chanson du Toréador", shortly after which we return a final time to the vigorous opening music (1:58). The overture then concludes with the second section (2:19), which is very different in both length and character. This is music that is markedly ominous but also somewhat sensual, suggesting both Carmen herself and her ultimate fate at the end of the opera.
