Audrey and Alan's story of living with vascular dementia - Alzheimer's Society

Watch Audrey and Alan talk about Audrey's diagnosis of vascular dementia, the lack of treatments for vascular dementia, and why research into dementia is so important. Visit http://www.alzheimers.org.uk/give now to donate to dementia research. Audrey is one of around 150,000 people in the UK living with vascular dementia. She developed the condition over 20 years ago after having a stroke. Audrey has never had any treatment for her dementia, because there is none. However, Alzheimer's Society could be close to finding the first ever treatment for vascular dementia. Later this year, we will be trialling a drug as part of our Drug Discovery programme. If successful, it could be available to everyone in just a few years. As Alan says: 'Just knowing a treatment could be here soon would be wonderful.' We really need your support to help us fund more ground-breaking research like this. Please consider making a donation today. Interested in getting the latest updates from the Society?
