Anakapalli, a residential neighborhood of Visakhapatnam and home to 2nd largest Jaggery market of India is the district headquarter of the district. It was formed on 4 April 2022 from Anakapalli and Narsipatnam revenue divisions of the old Visakhapatnam district Anakapalli is divided into 2 revenue divisions and 24 Mandals. This district is represented in Lok Sabha by 1 constituency and is represented by 7 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh assembly.
