Hickory handles are produced for tools such as Axes, Pick-Axes, Mattocks... Info: *Hickory Wood: Very hard, stiff, dense and shock resistant. *Slip Fit Eye Handle Head: Advantages, easy to remove the head from the handle in cases of breakage. For use of the head on its own or for field-expedient hafting, rehafting, or use of multiple handle lengths for the same head. Quick interchange of other Head types is another advantage. *Wedge Eye Handle Head: Advantages, allows handle to have just about any shape you want including having a large flare to the butt, however difficult to clear the eye out when rehafting but less woodworking needed to at least get a rudimentary handle back on it. *Pale Rider was primarily filmed in the Boulder Mountains and the Sawtooth National Recreation Area in central Idaho, just north of Sun Valley in late 1984. The opening credits scene featured the jagged Sawtooth Mountains south of Stanley. Train-station scenes were filmed in Tuolumne County, California, near Jamestown.
