In the Deflection Temperature Under Load (DTUL) test, the temperature at which the specimen reaches the specified deflection is evaluated as the Deflection Temperature Under Load (DTUL). Flatwise and edgewise methods are available depending on the bending direction of the test specimen. By replacing the tip indenter, the Vicat softening temperature (VST) test*, which measures the temperature when the needle indenter penetrates 1 mm into the test specimen, and the ball pressure test*, which is specified in the heat resistance test for electrical appliances, are also available. (*Option) For cooling of the heat transfer fluid, silicone oil is circulated through a water-cooled heat exchanger* outside the oil tank, instead of using a cooling pipe (cooling coil) inside the oil tank, for safety reasons, as the oil tank temperature can reach a maximum of 300°C.
