Connect Docker LAN: IP Routing and IPIP Tunnel Setup for Inter-LAN Traffic | Dind Iproute2 iptables

In this video, I demonstrate how to connect two separate Docker LANs by mimicking public IP routing and updating routes on the default gateway. Since Docker bridge networks are isolated by default, I inserted a rule to allow communication between containers via these mimicked public IPs. Once communication was established, I set up an IPIP tunnel to route traffic between the two LANs. I also explain the details of IPIP tunnels, including the reduction of MTU size to 1480 due to encapsulation overhead, and how IPIP tunnels can be nested, allowing for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic in nested chains. This provides flexibility and efficiency when routing traffic between isolated Docker containers.
