How to knit a mohair hat | Beanie in English rib

In this tutorial, I will show you how to knit a mohair hat in English rib. It's very soft, fluffy and lightweight. It has a voluminous brim, that is folded up twice. The hat is knit in the round, bottom-up, in English rib. I knit in the Continental style, but you can easily knit in the English style - the pattern stays the same. Written tutorial with pictures can be found on my blog here: https://mirellamoments.com/how-to-kni... Since this hat is knit from a fluffy yarn the stitches are fluffy too, so knitting the first rows maybe a little bit confusing, but when you'll get the hang of the pattern it will go smoothly. If you want to fold up the brim only once - knit 30cm (11.8"), not 40cm (16"). If you don't want to join the stitches in the round using the invisible join, you can cast on the required 54 stitches and join them in the round by just starting to knit, but in that case, a little gap can form in the first round. *** Contents: 00:00 - Intro 00:45 - Cast on 02:40 - Joining in the round 03:24 - Row 1 04:20 - Row 2 05:29 - Row 3 07:24 - Shaping the crown *** MATERIALS: - Yarn: mohair yarn (that's lace weight yarn), you will need 4 skeins (they are usually very small) – we’ll knit with 4 strands held together. You can go with 3 strands, but the hat will be thinner and you should take smaller needles. I'm using Kid-silk by Drops, you can find it here: https://amzn.to/2rSYis9 If you don't have this yarn at hand, you can look into these yarns, that have similar contents: - - Angel by Debbie Bliss https://amzn.to/34npGMk -- Kidsilk haze by Rowan https://amzn.to/38LP8yf -- Silk Mohair by Katia https://amzn.to/38LP8yf - Needles: 5mm (US 8) / 40cm (16inch) circular needles (if you wish, you can also work with double-pointed needles). I'm using Addi, you can find them here: https://amzn.to/34qZYpW - Stitch marker - Scissors I love the peacock scissors (small, sharp, cute and have a comfortable grip) You can find them here: https://amzn.to/2J9GoHj - Tapestry needle *** SIZE: Adult fit, head circumference: 54-57cm (21.3-26inches) *** FIND ME HERE: BLOG: http://mirellamoments.com/ INSTAGRAM: https://bit.ly/3e1O8K6 PINTEREST: https://bit.ly/323zQD4 RAVELRY: https://bit.ly/3g2MWbO *** Disclosure: This description may contain affiliate links.
