Synth Stuff Ep. 70 - M-Audio Venom

In 2011, Avid bought M-Audio and, for whatever reason, decided to surprise the world with the Venom. I remember every bit of marketing on this synth focused on how "dirty" and "distorted" it is and yes...most of the sounds reek of that in-your-face tone that was popular at the time. It almost sounds like Native Instruments Massive in hardware form, though not quite that good. You have to use a computer in order to do any serious editing which is kind of a drag. However, there are tons of very usable sounds in here, and they're worth looking into when you consider how cheap they are on the used market now. All demos show off the dirty sounds so I tried to play some atypical Venom presets. Also...I realized I played one riff twice, haha. We're 70 episodes in...it was bound to happen!
