Exar Kun's double-bladed lightsaber was the culmination of Kun's mixture of Jedi and Sith knowledge and training, incorporating numerous innovative Sith mechanics into a robust Jedi design. He may not have been the original creator of the saberstaff, but as the first to wield it in battle, he was eternally associated with it. Though the more elaborate Trakata tactics that he favored never caught on, dual-phase lightsabers became traditionally associated with dedicated master duelists. Furthermore, his emphasis on abrupt style shifts inspired the conjoining lightsaber, a more ergonomic design that still captured the spirit of Exar Kun's innovations. References & Sources: Jedi Vs.
