There have been numerous reporting exposing #FaceBook of late - A stinging report by Wall Street Journal had alleged that the social media giant Facebook deliberately ignored / even encouraged hate content by certain BJP ministers in order to maintain cordial / beneficial ties with the ruling BJP Government. The report claimed that #AnkhiDas, a top Facebook India official opposed the taking down of hate content by BJP leaders - to avoid upsetting the ruling party. This was despite the fact that the content posted by these individuals or groups had been “flagged internally for promoting violence”. This led to Ankhi quitting facebook and then there was a report on FB deliberately going soft on #BajrangDal despite being called out by their OWN teams for hate speech! Now comes the news that Facebook has shut down the page of the Kisan Andolan - that had been made to counter Govt and IT Cell propaganda. This is as brazen as it gets!
