This is just a test video for a new way of capturing video. FRAPS used to work well for me until it started desyncing, so I began to look for a new capturing program ontop of finding a new way to encode videos. I used something called dxtory, which seems to work pretty well. I noticed that FRAPS recorded video compressed, while I have the option to record and still play games in a RAW video format comfortably with dxtory. But the process of getting videos up on Youtube takes a long time. First of all, this near 20 minute video took up 100GB of space at 30fps. Not too bad for me, but then I had to convert the RAW video to AVI, then AVI to x264 with MKV as the container format which took about an extra hour to do. Then I had to mux both the audio and video channels together with MKVToolNix. The video resulted being 1GB instead, which is actually pretty good. And the video quality is much much much better this time around I think since I decided to use MeGUI instead of Freemake - giving me some more range on how the video is processed. I look forward to recording my videos in 1920x1200 very very soon.
