This DIY germination chamber is a smaller version of the commercial water bath germination chambers that are commonly used to germinate seeds quickly and to ensure that an entire batch of seedlings germinate at the same time as quickly as possible. I built germination chamber using a 128 cell seedling tray, some bricks, an aquarium heater, and a used plastic tub. Using the germination chamber set to 89 degrees, I have now germinated bell peppers in 8 days and squash in 3 days. My seeds did not germinate uniformly, but this was likely due to discrepancies in planting depth.
